I went to Jakarta on 01-05-12 to attend a meeting at Bank Indonesia (central bank) Jakarta, happened to be a May Day. Saw many busses with labour inside, gathering for a demontration. The traffic jam was worse...but the most important thing is Jakarta was (and always, I hope) safe, no riot...peace :)
