Umrah Preparation

Insya Allah on 22 February 2012 (means tomorrow) I will have a journey to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. This is my first experience. I need to feel closer to Allah, I need spiritual booster and peace. How I feel that I have been so far from Allah, keep doing mistakes. I hope I become a better person time by time and in the future I could perform Hajj. Ameen.

I join the Travel Services Gema Raudhah for 9 days promo package umrah (2 days on plane) Economy class cost 1450 USD includes economy flight, hotel (4 person/room), meal, transportation during umrah, guidance, zamzam water exludes fee of passport, fiscal, airport tax, meningitis injection (from Health Dept.), muhrim letter (women only). Here list of documents must be prepared to join umrah journey :

• Passport (must be 3 parts of name)
• Close-up photo
• Id card, family and marriage book
• Birth certificate

To prepare the journey I have done a little research and this is a list of things inside my luggage and bag for 9 days journey (so basic so simple):

• Proper muslimah wardrobe for daily activities, pajama, veil/shawl, praying cloth (and sajada)
• Qur’an and praying book
• Underwear, socks, manset, face mask (incase to avoid dust)
• Towel and toiletries (shampoo, soap, toothbrush and toothpaste)
• Shoes, sandal (what’s in English? ;p), and plastic bag
• Cosmetic bag contains : face cream/sunblock, lipbalm, body lotion, spray bottle, personal medicine and vitamin
• In your handbag, don’t forget to bring your wallet, umbrella, bottle for zam zam water, sunglasses, camera and cellphone

I pray and pray hoping this spiritual journey will run smooth and safe, blessed and meaningful. Ameen ya Rabb… Insya Allah will return back to Indonesia on 1 March 2012, see you…

Do you know websites that sell discount voucher in many merchants are now on the trends? I have found at least 8 sites has similar service : providing discount vouchers for food, hotel, spa/beauty, travel, gadget and some kind other products too. I am soooo glad by the their existence…I mean we can now dine or buy products with 50% off or even more! Yeaayy…! Nom..nom…

Well, basicly all of them have the same concept, selling merchants vouchers and they will make profit in every voucher. Buyer must order and pay, after the payment confirmed they send the voucher via e-mail or phone. Buyer must print and show it to the merchant for usage, then just enjoy :D

I mostly buy voucher for food, of course. And then spa and product, in my case internet modem. So far I have nothing serious happened, except my one un-happy experience was a closed restaurant (which I bought 2 vouchers worth 50K) and GrouponDisdus didn’t care to my complaint and return my money back :(

99 Cahaya di Langit Eropa

Firstly, let me tell you that the book could make me cry… Beautiful Islamic novel (or memoir?) that come from the heart and soul. Nowadays…I don’t know… but I become more appreciating history than before, especially Islamic history. This is that kind of book…thanks to Hanum Salsabiela Rais and husband who had written it.

Showing us the past relationship between Islam and Europe in the Islamic Golden Age and the Falling, the book full of historical places and stories captured by her 3 years living in Europe. Visiting  museums, mosques, churches in Vienna Austria, Paris France, Cordoba & Andalucia Spain and Istanbul Turkey, where there are Islamic paths across those cities that we still can see them at present.  Many hidden facts are written about how Islam and other religion in Europe united and appreciated to each other at past time. Oh, how I hope the book reveals places in any other European cities…and someday may Allah SWT allows me to come there. Ameen.

At the end, we realize that Islam image now is full of terror, hate, woman abuse, etc…as a good moslem agent it is our duty to make a change, to show how beautiful and peace deen of Islam is, as the way of life full of light and kindness to other religion Prophet Muhammad SAW taught.
