Bandoeng Baheula Event 2013

Second cultural event held at Kota Baru Parahyangan bringing the old times situated in Bandung city, Parijs van Java. I came there on second and last day 7 April 2013. Unfortunately, the weather seemed to be unsupportive…raining all day long on first day and at afternoon on second day. Sooo many interesting stuff there, classic, unique, vintage, great musical gigs…. My favorite is a long booth from Museum Sribaduga Bandung displaying old pictures, cars, bicycle, and other equipments. Many food stalls too but the prices are quite expensive to me. A portion of satay (only 5 chicken satays with rice is 25.000 rupiahs).

And this is the book I bought there, Album Bandoeng Tempo Doeloe contains old photos of Bandung city in past time. Printed only 2000 copies so I guess it's a good investment...haha...I hope...

Bdg Mooi ! Festival Bandoeng Baheula

Kota Baru Parahyangan, a housing estate with itsTown Management held an event called “Bdg Mooi ! Festival Bandoeng Baheula” on 28-29 April 2012 placed at Koridor Bandoeng Tempo Doeloe. This is the area where the houses and shop arcade styled as antique buildings like the atmosphere in Bandung year 1920-1950 with leafy boulevards.

And so the festival was held to bring the ambience of old time Bandung. I enjoyed the festival from its unique snacks, music performances, old fashioned radio-toys-bicycle-vehicle-book-camera and much more. Talents with traditional wardrobe, artists painted sketches and  mural on a wall, history experts talked about the past of Bandung, kids played traditional games and so on. Altough it was not a strong past time West Java ambience because of moderns tents and lack of Sundanese language spoken, this was such a different way to spend a weekend.
